The following is a list of software applications that are used by students to complete their coursework.
ArcGIS
ArcGIS is used for creating and using maps, compiling geographic data, analyzing mapped information, sharing and discovering geographic information, using maps and geographic information in a range of applications, and managing geographic information in a database.ÌýÌý
Only available to NSM (Natural Sciences & Mathematics) students.

ERDAS Imagine
ERDAS Imagine provides tools for all remote sensing, photogrammetry, and GIS needs.

JMP (Mac and Windows)
JMP (pronounced "jump") is a suite of computer programs for statistical analysis.
JMP is available for download from or in MyDU.

Kurzweil
Kurzweil 3000 isÌýan educational technology, or assistive technology, which provides aÌýreading, writing and study platform.Ìý Kurzweil 3000 canÌýread aloudÌýweb-based, digital, or scanned print material; convert web-based, digital, or scanned print materials into mp3 audible files to listen to on the go; or, through its Firefly web app, can be read on an iPad.Ìý It also allows you toÌýtake notes while you readÌýusing graphic organizers and has tools that helpÌýstructure your writing.Ìý Kurzweil is available to all DU students for free.

Wolfram Mathematica is a modern technical computing system spanning most areas of technical computing — including neural networks, machine learning, image processing, geometry, data science, visualizations, and others.

MatLab
ºÚÁÏÃÅ has a Campus-Wide License for MATLAB, Simulink, and add-on products. Faculty, researchers, and students may use these products for teaching, research, and learning. The license allows individuals to install the products on university-owned equipment, as well as personally owned computers.

About MATLAB and SimulinkÌý
MATLAB, the language of technical computing, is a programming environment for algorithm development, data analysis, visualization, and numeric computation. Simulink is a graphical environment for simulation and Model-Based Design of multidomain dynamic and embedded systems. MathWorks produces nearly 100 additional products for specialized tasks such as data analysis and image processing.

SAS is a statistical software suiteÌýfor data management, advanced analytics, multivariate analysis, business intelligence, criminal investigation, and predictive analytics.Ìý
SAS is licensed for the ºÚÁÏÃÅ and can be used for teaching and research purposes only. Our license does not allow SAS to be used for administrative or "business" purposes. ºÚÁÏÃÅ departments needing analytical software for administrative purposes should contact Institutional Research and inquire about the use of SPSS.
