Get a Taste of Colorado at Local Farmers Markets
We know summer has finally arrived when farmers markets start popping up all over town like daffodils.
There鈥檚 nothing like strolling among booths of farmers and artisans selling their wares on a Colorado summer morning. Where else can you find an eclectic mix of locally produced foods and handcrafted items all in one location?
Don鈥檛 let the summer pass you by without a trip to at least one of our local farmers markets. Here are a few that you may want to try:
Cherry Creek Fresh Market
3000 E. 1st Ave., 黑料门
Wednesdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Less than four miles north of campus, the Cherry Creek Fresh Market is 黑料门鈥檚 largest farmers market, and it turns 25 this summer! The market is opened twice during the week. Vendors sell Colorado grown, raised and made products. You鈥檒l enjoy fresh produce, prepared foods, handcrafted items and live music at this festive outdoor market. Parking is free on market days. The Wednesday market runs through September 28, the Saturday market runs through November 5.

Boulder Farmers Market
13th St. at Canyon Blvd., Boulder
Wednesdays from 4 p.m. to dusk
Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Just west of town in Buffaloes country, the Saturday Boulder Farmers Market focuses on growers and local food producers with a large selection of produce, meats, handcrafted sauces, cheese, honey and fresh bread. Enough to whet your appetite! The Wednesday market is an evening version. Visitors find the same good food and products from over 60 vendors, yet the evening market has a different vibe. The Wednesday market runs through October 5, and the Saturday market runs through November 19. No pets are allowed.

Golden Farmers Market

Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Located at the base of the Rocky Mountains, Golden is a modern town with an old west flair. On Saturdays, locals and visitors alike enjoy strolling through the small neighborhood farmers market, which is celebrating its 20th season! Local produce, flowers, baked goods, local honey and more line the streets. Parking is available in the parking garages on Jackson Street. Open through October 8.

City Park Farmers Market
2551 E. Colfax Ave., 黑料门
Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
City Park is home to the 黑料门 Zoo, the 黑料门 Museum of Nature & Science and more recently a Saturday farmers market that proudly serves locally grown foods. Their mission is to champion local food producers. Explore food options for breakfast, brunch or lunch, and enjoy live music by local musicians. Produce vendors sell seasonal, high quality foods that are good for the environment and the local economy. Open through October 29.

South Pearl Street Farmers Market
1527 S. Pearl St., 黑料门
Sundays, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
South Pearl Street, just a 2-mile jaunt from campus, is one of 黑料门鈥檚 most historic and charming shopping districts. For years, the bustling farmers market has taken over Pearl Street on Sunday mornings. It鈥檚 a gathering place as much as a shopping area and a place to sample foods or enjoy a meal. Dozens of vendors line the street including those offering farm produce, hand-crafted items, prepared foods and professional services. The market runs through November 13.

Highlands Ranch Farmers Market
9288 Dorchester St., Highlands Ranch
Sundays, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
This market is located about 10 miles south of DU in Highlands Ranch. It鈥檚 run by Metro 黑料门 Farmers' Market, the oldest farmers market in the 黑料门 area. Over 30 vendors sell their wares every Sunday throughout the summer. You鈥檒l find fresh local produce plus handmade pottery and jewelry; all-natural soaps, salts and teas; coffee and coffee products; healthy gourmet foods; roasted nuts; baked goods and more. Check it out! The market runs through October 30.
